Mitchell had a friend in Bristol-- Mitchell had a lot of friends in Bristol, but most of them he didn't exactly feel like talking to these days-- but he had a friend who was looking someone to mind his flat while he was off for the holidays.
And George, if Mitchell had deciphered his complaints about the Americans right, was starting to feel a bit homesick.
So there would be no New York trip for Mitchell, but drinking warm coffee and eating cold pizza in a crappy Bristol flat while watching bad films on the television. George was riling about one thing or another, but he usually was. Mitchell paid it no heed.
"... oh, and I'm seeing Lauren tomorrow," George went on, "You remember Lauren. She worked at that place, the thing with the... giant... cross. Anyway--"
Mitchell nodded along absently and prodded at the remote. Not a bad way to spend a New Years, especially considering how rotten last years had been.
[[ open for phone calls if anyone feels inclined to bug the bored vampire, otherwise establishy ]]
