Annie was standing in the living room looking a bit like the cat that ate the canary, but also looking just a bit scared. Mitchell had barely had the time to stumble out of bed and down the stairs, but he was grinning back at her now.
"It'll be good for you," he agreed, raising the cup of tea she'd shoved at him. "Though I'd say take Chloe with you, she'll be able to see some of the city, yeah?"
That might keep Gilbert from depressing Annie too much.

Date: 2010-07-16 12:59 pm (UTC)She tilted her head and then grinned at Annie. "Where are we going?"
Because, really, she was pretty sure that Annie wouldn't refuse that and it would give her more time to chat with her and remind her that she did have friends who cared about her. Like Mitchell.
She pulled her hair back from her face and tucked it behind her ears. "I've never been out of the states before, so this is going to be an adventure."
Yep. She looked like the sweet and adorable tiny teen -- who didn't seem to have a problem with her stutter when she was talking to Annie.

Date: 2010-07-16 01:04 pm (UTC)In turn, Mitchell mostly looked dryly amused. "You've seen him in class, I think," he said. "A simulation, at least. Don't worry, he won't do anything."
Fidgeting with her jacket, Annie sighed, and took a deep breath of air to steel herself. "He said we had to get on the line 18 bus," she said, with a little bit of nervous energy, "And ride it all the way down. I haven't been that far out since I-- died. But now we're going to do it!"

Date: 2010-07-16 01:15 pm (UTC)Not that Mitchell had any intention of letting her get anywhere near that number. "Road trip," he agreed, making a little shooing motion. He was grinning, though. "Go on. You don't want to leave the 80s police waiting."
"I'm going, I'm going," Annie declared, "Don't let anything crawl up your bum, yeah?" To Chloe, she said, "Are you ready?" as she offered her hand. "We've got a bus to catch!"
At least she sounded exceptionally cheerful.

Date: 2010-07-16 01:24 pm (UTC)"I'm definitely ready," she agreed. "We'll see you later, Mitchell. Let's go get that bus."
At least this bus trip wouldn't end up with her and a friend getting left behind by their bus because said friend was having werewolf-shifting problems. She was pretty excited to see more of Bristol and then write something about it.

Date: 2010-07-16 01:28 pm (UTC)"I remember that place! I used to go there for coffee," she babbled. "They have these huge pumps for the beer that sort of make this noise-- I always wanted to operate one of those, you know?"

"Did that place just have one kind of coffee, or is it like Starbucks where it has every flavor imaginable and coffee-flavored coffee is almost unheard of?"
