chosehumanity"I found you a job," Mitchell announced, idly. He had his feet propped up on George's lap and he was eating last night's pizza with gusto. Salami with... okay, he wasn't sure what the other thing was, but it was good. Some kind of sausage, maybe?
"Can't work anywhere, I have my... condition, and the vampires will find me," George said, equally idle, and flipped to the next page in the paper. The front page screamed something about animal attacks. Right. "Pass me the biscuits? I'm starving."
Mitchell threw him a weird look. "There's pizza," he pointed out. "You know. That thing you eat for sustenance."
"Yes, well, I'm on a diet, so make it biscuits." George gestured at him; with a sigh, chell passed over the biscuits.
"Is this still about the deer?"
"No," George said. Flip, again. A little too quickly for him to have already read that page. "The deer is long since forgotten. I have moved on, I've thrown out those clothes, I'm just... moving on to a healthier lifestyle."
"Uh huh." Sometimes, George was just a bit of an idiot. "Anyway, they're hiring porters back at the hospital again. And that's not all-- turns out they've got these empty, lockable offices down in the cellar."
The look he got from George was distinctively owlish, the biscuit pausing halfway on its way to George's mouth. "Are you saying you've found me a place to change?"
Mitchell grinned merrily, picked some salami off his pizza, and said, "I think you should take the job, Benji. It'll be good for your waistline."
"Huh."
And with that, Mitchell held up the slice. "Pizza?"
George pouted.
